Introduction
Hello, I am Jonathan Omens, a seventh grader attending Correia Middle School. This is a report that I have written for science class about an invasive species. I chose the species garlic mustard as the subject for my report because it appeared to be a species that was a major concern in parts of America. I chose a plant because I wanted to stray off of what most of my classmates were doing, when they picked animals. Garlic mustard had lots of information and so it was easier to do my research. I looked and saw all of the problems that it was causing and decided that it would be my organism.
The reason I chose to partake in the invasive species project rather than the endangered one was that it seemed like more of an interesting topic to me to write about an organism that is harming other ecosystems rather than one that is struggling in its own ecosystem. I thought that there would be more to write about in the invasive species project because of the topics that were in it.
